Pastor Joseph Fred Johnson, Senior Pastor of Mount Hebron Church Ministries located in Mobile, Alabama, is affectionately referred to by his friends & parishioners, as Pastor Joe. He began his pastoralship in 1996 with a congregation consisting of 200 members. Since his installation, membership has quickly multiplied to well over 4,000. In response to the overwhelming growth in membership, over fifty

new ministries were added, helping Mt. Hebron to further impact the community through outreach programs and community-empowering projects. Pastor Joe directed land acquisition and building development efforts, which led to the construction of a forty-four thousand square foot Family Life Center in 2003, located in the heart of the Trinity Garden Community.

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana and product of its public school system, Pastor Joe is a man of vision with a genuine heart for the people, especially the underprivileged. It is his desire to help men, women and children walk in their divine destiny. He often quotes the scripture in Genesis 12:2 “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.” It is this desire that has fueled the initiation of such programs as the Community Cultural Enrichment (CCE), Summer Camp and Christian Dance Studio, in addition to the implementation of the Community Development Ministries (CDM) and the Christian Child Development Center.

Pastor Joe received a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from the University of Mobile. In addition, he received an honorary doctorate from Saint Thomas Christian College. Pastor Joe served 20 years in the United States Air Force where he retired at the rank of Master Sergeant.

He is married to Linda, his life partner and co-laborer in ministry, and is the father of four: Tiffany (Wesley), Nicholas (Miriam), Timothy (Gina) and Christal. He and Linda are the proud grandparents of one granddaughter, Victoria & two grandsons Wesley III (Trey) & Noah.
